Point of Sale will sometimes lose its connection to the register. This can happen, for example, if the computer or browser has been updated, and an error message appears as soon as Point of Sale is opened:

Preventing lost register connection
If you frequently experience that Point of Sale loses its connection to the register, there are some browser settings to review.
Open Chrome.
Click on the three dots in the top-right corner, then select "Settings."
Click on "Privacy and security," then select "Site settings."
Scroll down and uncheck the box next to "Automatically remove permissions for unused sites"
